A person who is Junub must not read Qur'an

Question:

Can a person who is Junub (in a state of sexual impurity) recite the Book of Allah, even if it be from memory? And if he may not, can he listen to it? May Allah reward you with the best reward.

Answer:

The person who is Junab may not recite the Qur'an, whether from the book or from memory, until he has made Ghusl, because it has been authentically reported that nothing prevented the prophet- Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam- from reading the Qur'an except Janabah ( Ibn Majah no. 594, Abu Dawud no. 229, and Ahmed 1: 84, 124).

As for listening to the recitation of the Qur'an, there is no objection to the one who is Junub listening to it, in fact it is praiseworthy to do so, because great benefit is obtained thereby, without touching the book or reading from it. And Allah is the Granter of success.
